Influence of Synthesis Method on Structural, Morphological, Magnetic, and Antimicrobial Properties of Fe-Ag Nanoparticles

This contribution reports on the development of two versatile and efficient methods, namely green gamma radiolysis for Fe-Ag nanoparticles (NPs) synthesis, characterization, further their growth inhibition potential some spoilage microorganisms. Green Ag/Fe2O3 NPs were obtained at [3:1], annealing temperature 800 °C 2 h, irradiated Ag/Fe3O4 [7:1], a 50 kGy dose. The characterization techniques performed with these samples whereby sizes from crystallographic microscopic analyses 39.59 20.00 nm NPs, 28.57 15.37 respectively. polycrystallinity nature observed X-ray diffraction was in accordance selected area electron diffraction. vibrational properties confirmed presence bimetallic depiction chemical bonds, Fe–O Ag–O attenuated total reflection-Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy elements Ag, Fe, O energy-dispersive analyses. magnetic carried out using vibrating sample magnetometer suggested superparamagnetic behavior ferromagnetic NPs. Overall, successfully inhibited yeasts Candida guilliermondii, Zygosaccharomyces fermentati, florentinus, molds Botrytis cinerea, Penicillium expansum, Alternaria alstroemeriae.
